Facilities and Services

Ashton House is registered for both residential and nursing care which includes a separate unit for residents who are elderly frail and mentally infirm. We also offer a day care service. Our residents are generally over sixty years of age, however, we do accept younger residents if we can meet their nursing and care needs. In addition, we often provide care to married couples, or partners, who require long term nursing care because they can no longer live at home.

Single and double bedrooms are available on the ground, first and second floors with the majority of rooms having en-suite facilities.

There are lifts available to provide residents with ease of access to all rooms. The home is equipped with assisted baths, showers and toilets. There are various lounges interspersed throughout the Home. There are two dining rooms of which one is a large lounge diner leading to an enclosed walled courtyard/patio in the Hazelwood unit. Our gardens have been beautifully landscaped for the enjoyment of our residents, and our home is accessible to wheelchair users. We also have a hairdressing salon with weekly visits from a local hairdresser.

New Improvements & Modernisation

Ashton House has just completed an extensive program of improvements in May 2017 to really improve the entire home.
The improvements have included:-

  • Improved Living Areas
  • Improved Dining Rooms
  • Improved Conservatory
  • Widening of Corridors
  • New Entrance & Reception Area
  • 6 New Dementia Nursing Bedrooms
  • 5 New Nursing Bedrooms
  • New Nursing Office
  • New Medication Room
  • Installation of New Fire Protection Sprinkler System

These new facilities have really improved the entire environment for our residents

Day Care

We understand that for some families it is important for their relatives to remain at home rather than enter long term residential care.

A day care service can support families and older people in achieving that wish, whilst also giving relatives the opportunity to enjoy family life and the older person the opportunity to retain a good degree of independence.

We are able to provide a flexible service which can include:

  • Meals, drinks and snacks
  • Bathing and hairdressing
  • Participation in the Activities programme
  • Nurses who can advise on  health care matters
  • The opportunity to socialise with other people
  • Fees will be set according to assessment of need as this will be individual to each person.

If you are interested in discussing how this service may be helpful to you or a member of your family please contact:
Either Lynn or Kathy on 01444 459586 option 1

And they will be able to arrange for you to visit and discuss how we can discuss your needs or the needs of your relative.

The chefs at Ashton House produce a wide variety of dishes catering for all dietary requirements including vegetarian, diabetic and low cholesterol.

We use as much fresh local produce as possible and all meals are cooked on the premises. Home-made cake is served with afternoon tea every day.

Meal times are flexible and residents are able to have their meals where they wish, some remain in their individual rooms whilst others prefer to eat in the dining room.

Regular coffee and tea breaks are supplemented with the availability of 24 hour snacks if required.

  • SPRINKLER SYSTEM INSTALLED
  • Protection of our vulnerable residents is the most important thing for our home and thus we have installed the best life safety sprinkler system - where this may not be ascetically pleasing it is the equivalent to having a fireman in each of our bedrooms 24 hours per day. Fire alarms will only warn us about fires however the sprinkler system we have installed extinguishes the fire itself making the home safe for fires. Thus all the communal areas, newly renovated areas all have sprinklers installed and we hope to have sprinklers installed in the remaining rooms by the end of 2017.
