Facilities and Services

Ashton House is proud to offer both residential and nursing care, including a dedicated unit for elderly residents who are frail or mentally infirm. We also provide a day care service to support those who need assistance during the day. While our residents are generally over sixty years of age, we do accept younger residents if we can meet their nursing and care needs. Additionally, we often provide care for married couples or partners who require long-term nursing care and can no longer live at home independently.

Our accommodations include single and double bedrooms available on the ground, first, and second floors, with the majority of rooms featuring en-suite facilities for added comfort and privacy. Spacious lifts provide residents with easy access to all rooms, ensuring mobility throughout the home.

Ashton House is equipped with assisted baths, showers, and toilets to ensure that all residents receive the necessary support for their personal care needs. Various lounges are interspersed throughout the home, providing comfortable spaces for relaxation and socialization. One of our two dining rooms is a large lounge diner that leads to an enclosed walled courtyard/patio in the Hazelwood unit, offering a beautiful and secure outdoor space.

Our gardens have been beautifully landscaped for the enjoyment of our residents, providing a serene environment for relaxation and outdoor activities. The entire home is accessible to wheelchair users, ensuring that all residents can move around freely and comfortably. Additionally, we have a hairdressing salon with weekly visits from a local hairdresser to help our residents look and feel their best.

Day Care

At Ashton House, we understand that for some families, it is important for their loved ones to remain at home rather than enter long-term residential care. Our day care service supports families and older individuals in achieving this goal, while also providing relatives the opportunity to enjoy family life and the older person the chance to retain a good degree of independence.

We offer a flexible day care service that can include:

• Meals, Drinks, and Snacks: Enjoy nutritious and delicious meals, along with beverages and snacks throughout the day.
• Bathing and Hairdressing: Benefit from our assisted bathing services and weekly visits from a local hairdresser to keep you looking and feeling your best.
• Participation in Activities: Take part in our engaging activities program, designed to keep you active and entertained.
• Health Care Advice: Access to our nurses who can provide valuable advice on health care matters.
• Social Opportunities: Enjoy the opportunity to socialize with others, fostering a sense of community and companionship.

Namaste Care

The Namaste Care program at Ashton House provides exceptional comfort for individuals with advanced dementia, enhancing the satisfaction of both staff and families with the care provided. This seven-day-a-week care program integrates compassionate nursing with individualized, meaningful activities tailored to people with advanced dementia in the final stages of their lives.

Namaste Care aims to engage individuals through sensory input, particularly touch, enriching their quality of life. By focusing on sensory experiences, our program helps to create a calming and nurturing environment, offering peace and dignity to those in our care.

Our culinary team at Ashton House crafts a diverse menu to accommodate various dietary needs, including vegetarian, diabetic, and low-cholesterol options. We prioritize fresh, local ingredients in all our meals, prepared with care on-site.

Enjoy homemade treats with our daily afternoon tea, and savour flexible meal times whether in the comfort of your room or the convivial dining room. Refreshments are available throughout the day, including 24-hour snacks.
